I am an artist and author living with my family in the North East of England. I was a teacher and lived as a child in Kenya and in Bangladesh. My paintings are inspired by the natural world and I prefer using watercolour, ink and ‘ Brusso’ in a playful, expressive style.

I work with local galleries and have created limited edition prints of some of my original paintings. If you are interested in commissioning please contact me.

Happy World Elephant Day for today and the message this year is conservation through coexistence!

Elephant matriarchs guide their families and herds and this year the message is to reach out to matriarchs within communities to share the same role in order to protect and help conserve these wonderful animals.

My children’s story is based around one ingenious project to support coexistence which is beehive fencing! @savetheelephants

I’m thrilled to tell you about my children’s story ‘ The Elephant and the Bee’ Meet Mwanzi! A little elephant and his family on his adventurous journey of discovery! I wrote the story to help to raise funds for @savetheelephants when I heard about their ingenious beehive fencing project.
It is aimed at children aged 3 to 7 years old with fun facts at the end of the story. The story is illustrated by me and with gorgeous drawings by children from Houghton Community Nursery School @inspiring_foundations and Moorside Primary School and Nursery in Ripon.
Who knew it could be so exciting to receive an ISBN number and bar code?! 😂
‘The Elephant and the Bee’ is with the book publishing company now and I can’t wait to receive the proof soon! It will be launched and available in mid September❤️
An elephant size thank you to everyone who has helped me along my journey to write this story and get it to print and especially to my herd - my family for their patience, support and technological know how! Written with love 💝 x

Summer sketching and painting in my happy place! These lilies are called day lilies and emerge as pops of sunshine colour every year.

‘Elephant Hugs’ for you this weekend!

This is my last illustration in preparation for my story ‘The Elephant and the Bee’ for @savetheelephants
It has been a labour of love for conservation of elephants over more than one year with lots of help from my daughters for the technology needed to put illustrations, wonderful children’s drawings and my story together in a children’s book ❤️ Many thanks also to Lynn @bondgategallery who is an absolute whizz with colour and has scanned in a rush for me!

Sketch for Survival is an international art competition run by the conservation charity @explorersagainstextinction
Artists selected donate their original paintings to be auctioned for conservation projects - the work of finalists will be exhibited in Edinburgh and London! I love the idea of this competition and that it includes young artists in their junior section too ❤️ all helping to raise awareness x
